Description
This listing describes a pair of gate piers and an attached wall located approximately 10 metres northeast of Kingthorpe Hall. They date from the mid-18th century. The wall is made of squared limestone and sits on a plinth, while the gate piers are constructed from sandstone ashlar. The wall features pantile coping and curves to the left, standing about 2 metres high and ramped up on either side of the gate piers. The piers are square in plan and approximately 2.5 metres tall, with alternate courses raised, a moulded cornice, and flat, stepped caps. There is a mounting block to the right of the gate, and to the left, there are three timber shuttered windows with thin timber lintels.
