Description

The Red Barn is a barn and byre with a loft, dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in English garden wall bond, resting on a squared sandstone plinth, with sandstone dressings and a pantile roof. The building is 1½ stories high with a two-bay front. There are boarded-up doorways on the left and right of the center, each featuring segmental arches. Additionally, there is one ventilation slit at the left end and two more above. The gables are coped and have shaped kneelers. On the left side, there is a gable end window that retains remnants of 8-pane glazing.
