Description
This is a barn located 15 meters north of Lower Bisterne Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century and altered over time. It is constructed of brick and features a plain tile roof. The barn has three bays and includes a central porch with a hip roof on one side, which has double doors. On the end facing the farmhouse, there are 20th-century double doors. The far bay has ventilation holes in the brickwork arranged in patterns, and the roof is half-hipped. Inside, the barn contains unusual trusses; between the bays, there is a queen-strut truss with a curved brace that supports a tie starting from the top of a brick pier against the wall. In the center of the end bay, there is a type of cruck truss with a cruck that rises from the top of a brick pier against the wall.
