Description

Loughrigg Cottage is an 18th-century building, likely originally a rural worker's dwelling, situated within the Ryal and Loughrigg area. The exterior is colour-washed roughcast over a stone rubble base, topped with a slate roof and end chimneys. The two-storey cottage has three windows on the upper floor, two with 16 panes and one with 12. The ground floor features a central 12-paned window flanked by deep bay windows with cornices, each having a five-sided shape. A five-sided porch is located on the right-hand gable end, and features eaves with triple dentils.
