Description
Rydal Cottages, located in Rydal and Loughrigg, were probably originally built as a single dwelling and are now two cottages. The building features yellow-washed roughcast with a slate roof, and it has twin round chimneys as well as twin diagonal chimneys. It is two storeys tall and has an L-shaped plan. The gabled wing on the left (north) side has one window on each floor, both with labels. The right-hand wing includes a lean-to porch that has an arrow slit and a longer window on the ground floor, along with two windows above. The upper windows consist of a very small three-light window over the porch, while the others are larger three-light or eight-light windows, all with small diamond leaded panes. For additional context regarding the group value, refer to the general description under Rydal.
