Description
This is a wall approximately 50 meters long, located to the east of Broadleys and its gates, with gate piers at either end. It was built between 1898 and 1900 by C.F.A. Voysey. The wall is made of coursed rubble with a coping of vertical stones. At the north end, the gates are flanked by round gate piers topped with flat circular caps that support small boulders. The paired plank gates feature long strap hinges adorned with heart motifs. The south gate has square dressed slate piers with flat square caps supporting large limestone boulders. This gate includes vertical slats and a diagonal brace, with strap hinges that extend the full width of the gate and also feature heart motifs; the latch has a counterweight. The gate pier to the north has been reconstructed.
