Description

The covered well located behind the telephone call box in the center of Blindcrake dates from the late 19th century. It is constructed of red sandstone ashlar and features a circular well head topped with a domed stone cover and a side iron grille. A similar well in Bromfield is known to date from the 1870s. This well was in use until the 1930s when piped water was introduced to the village.
