Description
South Lodge to Mirehouse is a lodge built in the late 18th century, with a mid-19th century extension. It features painted roughcast walls, while the extension is made of slate rubble, all under a graduated greenslate roof with ashlar chimney stacks. The building is single storey and originally had three bays, but now has two bays with a single-bay extension, creating an overall T-shape. The windows are Yorkshire sash style in plain reveals, with one additional window on the left that has been blocked. The gable walls have two-light Tudor-style windows with hoodmoulds. The extension includes a panelled door set within a gabled porch, and there is a canted bay window to the right. All windows are fitted with glazing bars.
