Description
This building, located to the west of Hoathwaite Farmhouse, is an early 17th-century house that has been converted into an outbuilding. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof. The structure is L-shaped, with one storey and an attic. The south wing includes two windows, one of which is partially blocked, along with a central entrance. The east elevation has two entrances and a pitching hole. Inside, there are two upper cruck trusses, a blocked fire window, and three wooden chamfered-mullioned windows with intermediate bars, which are also blocked. The staircase has oak treads, and the first floor is fitted with wide floorboards and stud and plaster partitions. The property is owned by the National Trust, which has compiled a survey report on it.
