Description
Brotto Cottages is a farmhouse that has been converted into a cottage, dating from the late 17th century. The building features painted roughcast walls and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof, which includes painted roughcast chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The entrance is a top-glazed panelled door set within a 17th-century gabled stone porch that has side seats. The windows are sash windows with plain reveals. Inside, the ground floor has beamed ceilings, and the room on the right contains a partly-blocked inglenook with a firebeam and a built-in 17th-century panelled court cupboard. The adjoining No. 4 is not of interest.
