Description
Barker Knott is a 17th-century farmhouse that has undergone later alterations. It features limewashed rubble walls and a graduated greenslate roof, along with two chimney stacks that have slate drips. The building includes two stone-built porches with ogee arch entrances, side benches, and slate roofs. The left-hand door is oak boarded and studded with applied strips, while the right-hand door is also oak boarded with studs, both set in heavy chamfered oak surrounds. The ground floor has three casement windows and one fixed light window with nine panes, while the upper floor has four 19th-century casements, all with glazing bars. Inside, the farmhouse showcases good plank and muntin partitions typical of the area, panelled doors with old latches, exposed beams, and a 19th-century staircase.
