Description

The barn at Pool Garth Nook is a structure likely dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof, built into the hillside. The north-west elevation includes a main barn entrance with a smaller entrance to the left. The north-east gable end has a pitching hole. Inside, the barn consists of three bays and contains reused raised cruck trusses, which have tie beams and collars, with one truss having a trenched through purlin remaining. Notably, the south-east pitch of the roof has slipped to the ground in one piece, as observed in 1986. There are also ruined buildings located to the north of the barn.
