Description
Fold Head is a building located on Fallbarrow Road in Bowness, dating back to 1834. It is constructed from white-washed stone rubble and features an old slate roof, rising to two low storeys. The front has a modern door with a small solid fanlight and a gable hood, along with an inscribed round-topped datestone that reads, "Reginald Shephard built this house in the year and don 1751." There are two new cross windows on each floor set in older square openings. At the rear, there is a wooden oriel and a deep rectangular bay window. Fold Head, along with nearby buildings such as White House, Robinson Place, New Hall Inn, Lowside, and others, forms an important group in the village centre, alongside the Parish Church of St Martin on Lake Road and several businesses on Church Street.
