Description

Low House is a 17th-century farmhouse, with a datestone of 1627. It is built of roughcast and scored stucco over stone rubble, with a slate roof and projecting square chimneys on brackets. The house is two storeys high and features small square windows. The front of the house, which faces the valley, has three windows on the ground floor and four above, each protected by a slate dripstone. A low staircase wing is located at the rear, set in the angle between the main wings. The property is part of a wider group of buildings of group value within Troutbeck Village.
