Description
The gazebo, built around 1840, is located to the north of Combe Park Hotel in Lynton and Lynmouth. This small, free-standing octagonal structure is made of rubble and features a slate roof, which was renewed in 1993/4, complete with lead hips and a crown. Designed in a picturesque Tudor Gothic style, the gazebo includes six small-pane casements with two lights each, featuring stone mullions, pointed heads, and moulded drip-courses with stops, all set on steep weathered stone cills. There is a door on the southwest side with a 4-centred opening, and a rubble stack on the northeast side. Inside, the gazebo has a small stone fire surround with a moulded 4-centred head.
