Description
A group of farm buildings dating from the mid-19th century is located about 10 meters west of Ashway Farmhouse. These buildings enclose a foldyard and include a shelter shed in the northeast corner. They are constructed from random rubble local stone with slate roofs, featuring coped verges and kneelers. The layout takes advantage of the sloping land to the south, with a bank barn on the north side. The group includes a 5-bay shelter shed with curved struts projecting at the rear to the northeast, a loft over stables on the west side, and a two-storey linhay supported by wooden piers that are infilled with concrete walls on the south side. The entrance is located in the northeast corner, with a range on the east front. This is a good example of a relatively unaltered group of 19th-century farm buildings.
