Description
Greenbanks Lower Cottage is a pair of semi-detached cottages dating from the 17th to 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The exterior is roughcast over rubble and possibly cob, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped to the left. There is a lateral stack at the center with a rebuilt circular top, which rises from the eaves on the left side. The layout likely consists of two single-cell dwellings with an extension at the rear. The cottages are two storeys high and feature a 2:2 bay arrangement. The bay to the right of the stack is built forward in line with it, and all windows have ogee-headed leaded lights, including 2 and 3-light casements. On the left side below the eaves, there are 3 and 2-light casements that rise at eaves level, with a 3-light window in the outer bay on the left and center right. The doorways are chamfered and semicircular headed, leading to plank doors. The interior has not been seen.
