Description
The Old Toll House is a former toll house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble and features large granite quoins. This small two-storey building projects from the street frontage onto the pavement and has a lean-to slate roof. The side has a raised gable with a moulded stone pedimental gable above a bellcote, which is supported by rebuilt brick piers. The front of the building includes a boarded door with a wrought iron lamp-holder bracket and a small window above it. There is also a two-light casement window facing the street, with a shuttered window above and a large board at the side displaying toll charges, which is dated 1889.
