Description

The Manor House is a former manor house dating from the early 16th century. It is constructed of whitewashed stone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof with gabled ends, which has been heightened at the northeast end. The building has two storeys and is approximately five windows wide, with 19th and 20th-century sash and casement windows.

To the right of the center, there is a two-storey gabled porch that has a chamfered two-centred arch doorway and a large four-centre arch window above, framed in the 19th century. A stair turret is located in the angle to the left, while a projecting chimney stack is found in the angle on the front wall to the right. Additional chimney stacks are present at the gable ends, and there is a gabled stair turret at the higher end at the rear. The rear features a doorway and windows with chamfered wooden lintels, with a date of 1802 noted.

At the lower end to the left (southwest), there is a range of former outbuildings from the priory, which are now part of the house. Inside, at the lower end, there is a wide open fireplace with a deeply chamfered wooden bressummer. The interior was formerly an open space with a later floor inserted. A stone newel staircase is located beside the front porch at the lower end, while wooden newel stairs are found at the higher end, featuring an ovolo moulded wooden doorframe at the top. The hall fireplace on the front wall has chamfered granite jambs and 20th-century blocking. The large open fireplace at the lower end includes a long stopped chamfer wooden bressummer and an oven. Closely spaced joists at the lower end are supported on a new cross-beam, and most, if not all, of the roof trusses have been replaced.
