Description

Williams headstone, located approximately 7 metres north-west of the tower of the Church of St Thomas, is a headstone dated 1776 and 1769, dedicated to Joanna Williams and her son. It is made of slate and features a square head that rises to a small ogee shape at the centre, with scrolled corners. At the top, there are two very primitive angels holding trumpets, carved within a rectangular recess that has a segmental arched head. Below this, there is a rhyming epitaph inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.
