Description
Cockingford Bridge, including its abutments, is a bridge built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble and features a single round arch made with roughly-cut voussoirs and raised keystones. The bridge's parapets are distinct from those of the abutments due to their straight joints and are topped with large, roughly-dressed blocks. The bridge measures about 5 metres wide at the center and widens sharply to approximately 6 metres on the downstream side of the Buckland bank. It has group value with Cockingford farmhouse located on the Widecombe bank.
