Description
This barn, located about 25 metres south-east of Middle Bonehill Farmhouse on the opposite side of the road, is possibly from the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed of granite rubble and has a roof covered with corrugated iron. The barn is one storey high with a loft. On the north front, there is a wide doorway off-centre to the left, featuring a plaited wooden lintel and 20th-century double doors with old wrought-iron strap-hinges. The east gable wall has a loft entrance without a door, while the other two walls have no openings. Inside, there are late 17th-century or 18th-century roof trusses with collars pegged to the faces of the principal rafters. The barn is situated in a prominent position on the green in the centre of the hamlet.
