Description
This barn, located approximately 3 metres to the north-west of Southmeads, dates from the late 18th century and has later additions. It features granite rubble walls topped by a gable-ended corrugated iron roof. The barn has a long rectangular shape with additional rooms at both ends and is a single storey. The front is asymmetrical, with a tall double doorway positioned to the right of centre and a small square opening to its left. There is a narrower doorway towards the left end and a door at the right end with a window to its left. This barn is part of an important group of farm buildings and early houses in a small moorland settlement on the edge of Dartmoor.
