Description
This barn, located approximately 50 metres north of Southmeads, dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features granite rubble walls with larger quoins and a corrugated iron roof with gable ends, presenting a long rectangular shape. The front is symmetrical with a central tall double doorway, while there is a narrower opposing doorway at the rear that has a roughly chamfered granite lintel. A lean-to outshut is located at the left-hand gable end. This barn is part of an important group of farm buildings and early houses in a small moorland settlement on the edge of Dartmoor.
