Description

The Watchmaker's Tomb, located approximately 1 metre south of the Church of St Petrock, is a chest tomb dated 1802, dedicated to George Routleigh, a watchmaker. It is constructed of rubble and features a chamfered cornice with a wedge-shaped slate lid. The inscription on the tomb is a witty epitaph that cleverly includes components of watches as well as themes of time and time-keeping.
