Description

Moorwood Cottage is a late 17th and early 18th century cottage, significantly altered and extended in the 20th century. It is constructed of rendered granite rubble with a thatched roof, featuring granite rubble gable end stacks, the left-hand one being rendered. Originally a two-room plan, likely with a central entry hall, the original house has been converted into a single large room with 20th-century extensions at each end. The two-storey symmetrical front has a central glazed door and late 19th or early 20th century three-light casement windows with glazing bars; the first-floor centre window is blocked. Thatched roof extensions are present at both ends. The interior, which was viewed but not inspected, contains fireplaces with rough wooden lintels at each end.
