Description
Loampark Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century or 17th century, with an added lean-to on the right-hand side. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a hipped thatched roof. On the ridge, slightly off-centre to the left, there is a large stone rubble chimneystack with a tapered top and a weathering course beneath it. The right-hand gable has a plain stone rubble stack. The cottage is two storeys high, with an additional single-storey lean-to, and it has four windows across the front. All windows are 20th-century wooden casements without glazing bars. The ground-storey windows and the doorway at the left end have segmental arches. Although the interior has not been inspected, a ground-storey fireplace visible through a window corresponds to the large stack on the ridge and features a wide opening with a chamfered and stopped wooden lintel. There are likely other interesting features inside.
