Description

The direction post at Five Lanes, located at the junction of the roads to Hennock Village and Warmhill, dates from the early 19th century and is made of granite. It has a five-sided shape with a roughly shaped top. Each side features a carved inscription with serif lettering. The inscriptions indicate directions: "TO S. BOVEY" on the south-west side, "TO MORETON" on the north-west side, "TO HENNOCK" on the north-east side, "TO EXETER" on the east side, and "TO CHUDLEIGH" on the south-east side.
