Description

Beauchamp Lodge is a house, likely built in the third quarter of the 19th century for T. Gambier-Parry. The building features English bond brickwork on the ground floor and timber framing with rendered panels above, topped with a tiled roof. It is two stories high, two windows wide, and one room deep.

The front facing the road has blue bricks at the corners. The entrance includes a boarded front door with a heavy wood frame and a lean-to porch roof supported by curved timber brackets, adorned with fish-scale tiles. To the right, there is a 4-light wooden window with leaded lights, a moulded sill, and a lean-to head similar to the door. On the left, there is a 5-light window of the same style.

The first floor jetties out over the front, showcasing exposed joist ends and brackets at the ends. Above this, the timber framing consists of two panels high, with weatherboarding on the mid rail. The windows on the upper floor are four and five-light designs that rise into gabled dormers, featuring weatherboarding on the window head and collar above, with decorative bracing in between and a wide verge.

A brick chimney is located in the right valley of the right gable, with a diagonally-set flue, while a lateral chimney is positioned on the left at the rear. There is a single-storey wing on the left side. The right return features a 6-light oriel window on the ground floor, supported by curved brackets below, with brick ends and a lean-to roof covered in fish-scale tiles. Above this, the framing is two panels high up to the tie beam, with curved braces to the main posts, a 2-light window, and weatherboarding on the tie beam and collar above, along with decorative bracing in between and a curved design above the collar, finished with a wide verge.
