Description
A pair of early 19th century houses forming part of a row in Gloucester Street, Winchcombe. The houses are constructed of good quality squared and coursed limestone, with a limestone plinth and a clearly defined party wall separating the properties. They have a mansard roof covered in clay plain tiles, and two chimney stacks. Each house is two storeys and has an attic, originally with a single window each. Number 36 has a 20th-century two-light gabled dormer above a 3-light 19th-century casement window at first floor level, and a modified 5-light window at ground floor level, with a plank front door on the left side. Number 38 features a 20th-century two-light steel casement window in its dormer, above over-square sash windows with vertical bars at both first and ground floor levels, and has a four-panel flush door, partly glazed, on its right side. The group value of the buildings lies in their contribution to the street scene.
