Description
The Ellis monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 3 meters north of the chancel of the Church of St. Lawrence. It dates from the later 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb has a rectangular shape with moulded ends, featuring a raised moulded oval on the east side and a triangular raised pyramid with a sunburst design on the west side. The sides have recessed moulded panels for inscriptions. The top of the monument is cyma moulded, while the base is cavetto moulded. The south side is inscribed with the name WILLIAM ELLIS, although the date is illegible.
