Description
The Pack Monument is an early 18th-century chest tomb made of limestone, located in the churchyard approximately 3 meters west of the monument to Sarah Howsen and west of the Church of St. Lawrence. The tomb features lyre ends with a cartouche at each end, the western end displaying a shield. It has a richly carved border around rectangular side inscription panels, which are flanked by mourners holding wreaths. The top of the tomb is cyma moulded, while the base is not visible. The north side is inscribed to Mary, the wife of William Pack, although the date is illegible. This monument is noted for its unusually rich and well-preserved high relief carving.
