Description
Bramley Cottage and Balsam Cottage comprise two dwellings, originally a row of three, dating to the mid-to-late 17th century with a later 18th-century addition. The cottages are constructed of random and coursed rubble limestone, with rebuilt chimneys of ashlar and concrete block, and roofs of stone and Welsh slate.
The south-west front of Balsam Cottage features a central doorway with a single-light casement window to the right. The doorway has a flat porch hood and plank door. Flanking the doorway are a pair of ground-floor 3-light casement windows with hoodmoulds. Above are three assorted timber casement windows. Gable end chimneys are present. Bramley Cottage to the left has scattered timber casement windows, and includes a doorway with a lean-to porch addition, with one doorway blocked. A single raking attic dormer is also visible. Two ridge chimneys are present, one with a chamfered cap.
The south-east end has a simpler fenestration pattern, with a 3-light window to the ground and upper floors, and a 2-light window in the attic. These windows are recessed chamfered mullioned, with hoodmoulds. The interior has not been inspected.
