Description
Apple Tree Cottage is a late 17th-century building that was formerly part of a farmhouse and is now a house at the end of a row. It underwent extensive rebuilding in 1927. The exterior features random and coursed rubble limestone, with ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. The cottage is two storeys high.
The front has a single gable with a three-light chamfered mullioned casement window on the upper floor, which includes a hoodmould. To the left on the ground floor is an off-centre, restored four-light casement window, and to the right is a three-light casement window, both also with hoodmoulds. The central doorway has a 20th-century door and a stone lintel above it. There is a hipped roof dormer mounted on the eaves. The ridge features chimneys with moulded caps. The interiors have not been inspected. The cottage is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
