Description
The porch at Merrett's Mill, associated with Cameron Gardner Ltd, dates back to the early 17th century and features both ashlar and coursed rubble limestone construction. It is a two-storey structure with attached walls, facing north. The porch includes a round arch with imposts and carved spandrels, and a hoodmould that rises over the doorway. Above the entrance is a two-light mullioned window adorned with elaborate bead moulding and leaded glass with early glass panes. The structure is topped with a crenellated parapet and has two oval windows on the east side. The remains of the mill house include two north-facing, two-light recessed cavetto mullioned windows that are now blocked, along with various other blocked mullioned windows. The roof height has been reduced to a mono-pitch.
