Description
The Sims monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 2 meters southeast of the Dyer monument and to the south of the south porch of the Church of St. Lawrence. It dates from 1839 and is made of sandstone. The tomb has a square shape with recessed corners and features a large raised inscription panel with a curved top on each side, along with paterae in a plain frieze. It is topped with a moulded top and pyramid coping, and has a moulded plinth. The north side is inscribed with the name JOSEPH SIMS, who died in 1839.
