Description

The Yealfe monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 6 meters south-west of the south porch of the Church of St. Lawrence. It dates from 1695 and is made of limestone. The tomb features lyre ends with an oval cartouche at each end and has a richly carved border around rectangular side inscription panels, which are flanked by hooded mourners holding wreaths. It has a bolection moulded top and a cavetto moulded base. The inscription on the south side commemorates Esther, the daughter of Richard Yealfe, who died in 1695.
