Description

The building is a former Methodist church, dated 1876 and designed by J. Tait of Leicester. It is constructed of rock-faced rustication with ashlar quoins, and has a pitched slate roof. The front is in a Palladian temple style, featuring coupled Ionic pilasters supporting an entablature with a pediment. The pediment contains an oculus. The front facade has two arcuated windows with glazing bars, keystones, moulded surrounds, and imposts on the first floor. A round arched doorway is set within a Baroque surround. A two-storey flanking bay contains a run of casements each, and has ramped coping to the roof.
