Description
Lower Green Farmhouse is probably of 18th-century origin, with a later 19th-century enlargement to the front. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed and dressed stone with flush quoins. The front section has a sprocketed stone slate roof, while the remainder of the building has a tile roof. There are external stone stacks to the rear range, with brick flues, and a smaller lateral brick stack to the rear of the front range. The farmhouse is two storeys and an attic, and includes a large single-storey wing to the front left. Windows are scattered across the facade, with 3/2/3-light, leaded wood casements to the left and centre, and stone mullions to the right. A large 3-light stone mullion and transom window is located to the right of the centre, at a slightly higher floor level than the 4-panel fielded door to the left of the centre. Above the door is a small 2-light window with a timber lintel.
