Description

The top of the spire from the Church of St John Northgate is a historical feature dating from around 1450. It was removed in 1910 from the spire on the west tower of the Church of St John the Baptist on Northgate Street, which is now known as the Church of St John Northgate. The spire top was then rebuilt in the former church graveyard, now called St Lucy's Garden, located on the north side of St John's Lane. The spire top is made of ashlar and consists of the upper portion, which is octagonal and tapers, standing approximately 3 meters tall. It features a roll moulding on each angle.
