Description

The passage from the Cathedral Cloisters to the former Monastic Infirmary in Gloucester is part of the Benedictine Abbey of St Peter and dates back to the early 13th century. Constructed from ashlar and rubble, this wide, vaulted passage leads north from the northeast corner of the Cathedral Cloister towards the west end of the remains of the Abbey Infirmary. The exterior features rubble walls with signs of former monastic structures on the east side. Inside, the passage has plain ashlar walls and four bays of ribbed quadripartite vaulting.
