Description

The lime kiln, likely built in the late 18th century, is constructed from roughly squared stone and serves as a retaining wall. It features two semi-circular stone-lined tunnels positioned side by side, with a connecting tunnel at the back at floor level that leads to a well, indicated by a depression in the ground above. Additionally, there are two cupboard-like recesses located low down in the right-hand tunnel. This kiln is a typical example of a Forest of Dean lime kiln, although it is of a lower pattern than usual.
