Description
The Bennett monument is a short chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 5 meters south of the nave and east of the porch of the Church of St. Andrew. It dates from 1797 and is made of stone. The tomb features a flat lid with a moulded edge and square panel sides framed by a thin raised border. The ends are adorned with Doric pilasters that have fielded panels on the stems of the main face, with similar panels on the returns, intersected by the main panel. It has a moulded base and commemorates Francis Bennett, with all lettering in capitals and the year presented in Roman numerals, along with various later inscriptions.
