Description
Hulin's Farmhouse is an abandoned farmhouse that likely dates back to the 15th century in part, but primarily from the 17th century. The building is constructed from rubble and brick, with some timber framing, and features slate hanging and a tiled roof. It has a T-shaped plan and includes a basement storey made of sandstone, which has an early window that overlooks a former stream or ditch to the south.
The entrance front is 1½ storeys high and has various openings, including casements and a new door located to the left of centre. The opposite front, facing south, features a partly obscured multi-light wooden casement with diagonally set mullions, set within a stone wall that is partly obscured by a later buttress.
Inside, the farmhouse has various heavy beams supported by brackets. There is also a two-light wooden casement with an ovolo moulded mullion and frame, which illuminates a stone newel stair on the left. The roof structure consists of heavy, steep-pitched trusses, with a collar and a post supporting the ridge pole.
