Description
The Gambier-Parry monument is a pillar located in the churchyard about 14 meters south of the priest's door in the chancel of the Church of St. Andrew. Erected in 1845, the monument is made of stone and features a rendered column built on a core. At the top of the column is a plain cross set on a square base, which is cut off square and lacks a capital. The monument has a double-roll base resting on a square plinth with a chamfered top, sitting on a flat base. The edges of the base are vertically furrowed, except at the corners where the furrows are short and horizontal. This monument commemorates Edward, the infant son of Thomas Gambier-Parry, who died in 1845, as well as an earlier infant who died in Italy in 1843. Inscriptions on the column are in Roman numerals.
