Description
Lower Harford Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1700, which was remodeled in the mid-19th century. It features a freestone front with a hipped slate roof and two ashlar ridge chimneys. The building has a square plan with rear extensions and a symmetrical front. It stands two storeys high with three bays, a string course over the ground floor, and a chamfered plinth. The windows are three-light, segment-headed casement windows. The central entrance has a half-glazed door set in what appears to be an original chamfered surround. The east and west returns of the building retain chamfered mullion windows, some of which are blocked, and there is evidence of a cellar on the east side. There is a modern L-plan extension to the northeast that is not included in the listing. Flanking the front door are a pair of what appear to be late 17th century or early 18th century French or Spanish caps of good quality.
