Description

Todenham Manor is an early 19th-century manor house built for the Pole family, with south and west facades and an enlargement by Guy Dawber completed in 1890-1891. The west facade features a rainwater head that is dated and initialled PVNP 1891. A 20th-century extension at the rear left is not of special interest. The building is constructed of ashlar stone with a slate and limestone slate roof, and has a 'U'-shaped plan with a central porch that projects forward from the main body, and a wing extending to the rear right.

The front has five bays, with the central portion rising three storeys and featuring two windows. To the left is a two-storey, single-window extension, and to the right is a two-storey extension with two windows. The main body and the left-hand extension have two and three-light stone mullioned casements with leaded panes. The window to the left of the porch has stilted headed lights with carved spandrels. There are string courses above the ground, first, and second-floor windows.

The porch features a six-panelled door set within a stilted headed surround, which has moulding at the top, extended imposts, carved spandrels, and a stopped hood above. The porch has roll moulded gable coping with remnants of a finial at the apex and eaves on either side. The roof parapet has saddleback coping with ball finials. The main body has parallel gables with gable end stacks that have moulded caps. The interior has not been inspected.
