Description
No. 18 Market Place is a house in a terrace, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is built of random coursed rubble stone on a tall plinth, featuring a parapet and cornice. The roof is made of Cotswold stone slate and has stone lateral stacks at the rear. The building is a single range with three storeys and three windows, which are 4-pane sashes with concrete lintels and moulded wooden architraves. The second floor has similar but smaller windows, along with relieving arches.
On the ground floor, there is a large arch, likely a former carriage arch, to the left, which now contains a margin sash. To the right, there is a shop front that dates from the late 18th or early 19th century. The central stone doorcase features Doric pilasters on bases, a frieze, and a pediment, with a door that has four bolection moulded panels set in a panelled reveal.
