Description

University Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. It is constructed from coursed square and dressed limestone and sandstone, featuring a stone slate roof on the front of the main body and concrete tiles at the rear. The main body has ashlar and artificial stone stacks, while the rear extension has a slate roof with a brick stack. The building has an 'L'-shaped plan, with the main body extending back to the rear right, and the 19th-century extension located on the gable-end at the rear and in the angle of the 'L'.

The facade is symmetrical, with two storeys and three windows. The windows are double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods and horizontal glazing bars, arranged in configurations of two, three, and four lights. The central entrance features a 19th-century plank door with decorative hinges and a single light at the top. There was a former entrance in the left gable end, which is now blocked. The building has saddleback gable-end coping and gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
