Description

The Old Rectory is a former rectory built in 1863 by Thomas Fulljames. It features coursed squared and dressed limestone with a stone slate roof and stone stacks, and has an 'L'-shaped plan. The building is two storeys high with basements.

At the center, there is a two-storey gabled porch that has a four-pane sash window on the first floor and a central 19th-century plank door set within a flat-chamfered segmental-pointed surround. The porch has canted corners that contain tall single-light windows with horizontal glazing bars. There is a band between the ground and first floor of the porch and another band between the basement and first floor.

To the left of the porch, there is a single bay with a 12-pane sash window on the first floor, a 6-pane sash window on the second floor, and a two-light casement window with glazing bars in the basement. To the right of the projecting porch, there are two bays lit by sash windows similar to those on the left, but the basement windows on this side are now blocked.

The gable of the two-storey porch features slightly stepped coping and roll-cross saddles, topped with a foliate ironwork finial at the apex. The gable end stacks are also present. The exterior remains as it was originally built, while the interior has not been inspected.
